MOBY’S SCULPTURE OF OBI-WAN KENOBI AND NEVILLE LONGBOTTOM DRAWS CRITICISM FROM STAR WARS AND HARRY POTTER FAN BASES

Renowned musician and artist Moby has drawn some criticism online through his sculpture of Obi-Wan Kenobi embracing Neville Longbottom. In his work, Moby says he’s attempted to bridge the divide between the Star Wars and Harry Potter fandoms by showing that we can come together and enjoy the same things, regardless of our differences in the source of power (the force or just magic). This was however not well received as Stu K. from Omaha says the following “I mean I get what he is tryong to do, but like, it doesn’t make any sense. There is no timeline in the lore of either Star Wars or the Harry Potter universe where Obi-Wan Kenobi would have met with Neville Longbottom, like, they are just entirely different worlds, as well as take place in different time in history.” A proponent of the work, Meredith C from New York said “I think it’s beautiful work and exactly what we need in these divise times. The craftsmanship is unique and the resemblance to the characters depicted is striking. It’s almost Llike I’m watching both movies at the same time.”
